ROMAN LONDON WALK

London was a Roman city from its foundation in 47 A.D. to the withdrawal of the last Roman soldiers three hundred and fifty years later. Glimpses of the city they built can still be seen, but the spirit of London they engendered is still going stronger than ever. The tour takes in

  • The Roman Wall which still marks the boundary of the City of London to this day.

  • The amphitheatre, now beneath the City of London's town hall.

  • The riverside trading settlement they established has now become a worldwide financial centre.

  • Immigrants from all over the Empire made Roman London their home and London is still a city welcoming people from all over the world.

The Roman London Walk looks at the city the Romans established, its rise and its fall, the way the Romans lived in Britain and the way the Britons lived alongside their Roman masters.

The Westminster Walk typically lasts around three hours. Please contact me for information on times, availability and prices.
